Abstract
Semicarbazide hydrochloride, when incorporated into Rockland rat stock diet and fed to weanling rats at levels of 0.05-0.25%, produced gross skeletal changes very similar to those produced by sweetpeas or [beta]-aminopropionitrile (BAPN). Damage to the aortic media also occurred, but developed more slowly and was less severe than when BAPN is fed. Dissecting aneurysms were not observed.
