Polyacrylamide: An Improved Surface for Cloning of Primary Tumors Containing Fibroblasts2

Abstract
A method for establishing mouse tumor lines in culture used a polyacrylamide dish as the primary culture vessel. The unique feature of this culture system was the inability of fibroblasts to grow on the acrylamide surface; thus tumor cells grew without competition. Morphologic and growth characteristics of several established tumors were described. A study of the immunogenicity of some tumor lines demonstrated alterations of tumor cells as a consequence of culture.
