Cyproheptadine for Cushing's Disease (Cont.)

Abstract
To the Editor: In view of the favorable reports concerning the use of cyproheptadine in Cushing's disease,1 , 2 we wish to record the failure of this therapy to alter either clinical expression or biochemical data in a recently diagnosed case of Cushing's disease.A 22-year-old woman had an abnormal overnight dexamethasone suppression test during evaluation of hypertension, and subsequent investigations confirmed Cushing's disease. The plasma cortisol was 970 nmoles per liter at 8 a.m., with loss of diurnal rhythm. The midnight cortisol was elevated at 600 nmoles per liter.
