Abstract
Studies on the pressure and temperature dependences of the Reppe’s hydroxymethylation of propylene by Fe(CO)5-tertiary amine catalyst indicated that the catalytic species was hydridotetracarbonyl ferrate, HFe(CO)4− The reaction was found to proceed preferably under the condition where the dissociation, HFe(CO)4− \ightleftharpoons HFe(CO)3−+CO, could occur to form a coordinatively unsaturated species. This publication has 4 references indexed in Scilit:
