Measurement of Serum Complement During Homograft Rejection in Man and Rat

Abstract
Summary In the rat, active homograft rejection of skin, whether first set, second set, or “white” does not alter the serum whole complement titer (CH50). During renal homograft rejection in man there is a small reduction in the CH50 titer, and a pronounced diminution in the titer of the second component of human complement (C'2hu), presumably reflecting in vivo complement fixation.
