Abstract
This case study, based on a single stroke unit, explored the career aspirations of professional staff in a multidisciplinary team. A qualitative approach was undertaken and analysed using content analysis. The findings suggest that nurses are different from the other professionals in that they are indirect in their career choice and passive in their subsequent career aspirations. Keywords
