Herpes simplex infections in pemphigus: an indication for urgent viral studies and specific antiviral therapy

Abstract
Four cases of herpes simplex virus infection in exacerbations of pemphigus are described. Three of these patients had severe generalized infection requiring systemic anti-viral therapy. The presenting features, methods for rapid viral diagnosis and appropriate treatment are discussed.Keywords
