Abstract
A technique for continuous frequency calibration of scanning spectrometers, with particular importance to Raman spectroscopy, is described. A spectral comb generated by illuminating a Fabry‐Perot étalon with white light is recorded simultaneously with, but separately from, the spectrum of interest. The precision achieved was of order 0.05 cm−1 although a different choice of design parameters would improve this substantially. Keywords
