Abstract
A RECENT review of patients from the Diabetes Clinic of the Boston City Hospital revealed a substantial number doing well on chlorpropamide¶ whose insulin requirement had exceeded 50 units. Because it has become almost axiomatic that these patients should not be expected to do well on the sulfonylurea type of agent, the subject was pursued further. Additional patients receiving 50 units of insulin or more a day were transferred to chlorpropamide, and their response tabulated. The results in 28 patients constitute the basis of this report. Methods and MaterialsCriteria for inclusion in the study were as follows: the diabetes . . .Keywords
