Nuclear Levels inLu177andLu175

Abstract
One- and three-quasiparticle states have been investigated in Lu175 and Lu177 using (d,p), (d,t), and thermal (n,γ) reactions on isotope-separated tarets of Lu176. The (d,p) and (d,t) studies utilized 12-MeV deuterons and a broad-range magnetic spectrograph; the (n,γ) studies used Ge(Li) and Si(Li) spectrometers. The ground-state one-quasiparticle band 72+[404] through the 172+ member and four tentative three-quasiparticle bands are observed in Lu175. Members of the following one-quasiparticle bands are observed in Lu177:72+[404] ground state, 92[514], 52+[402], and ½+[411]; in addition the following three-quasiparticle bands are observed in Lu177:232[p404+n514+n624], 112+[p514+n624+n514], 132+ and 152+[p404+n514±n510], K+2γ vibration built on the 72+[404] ground state, tentatively
