Abstract
Human muscle can be considered a biological machine for generating force. Techniques are described for analysing the function of muscle in health and disease in terms of electromechanical activation, energy metabolism, and the amount of the contractile machinery. Such quantitative techniques offer a logical basis for assessing the progress of disease processes and evaluating possible treatments. This publication has 18 references indexed in Scilit:
