Abstract
Techniques developed for attractancy tests for the Japanese beetle, popalia Japonica Newman, were used to test synthetic chemicals as lures for species in the subfamilies Cetoniinae and Rutelinae, which are closely related to the Japanese beetle and have similar habits. Of 21 compounds successfully tested, 6 were highly attractive to Cetoniinae, particularly to Oxythyrea spp.; 4 were attractive to the Rutelinae, particularly to Adoretus spp. and Anomala spp .Keywords
