Abstract
The primary distortion of an extended monochromatic image, caused by a plane grating at minimum deviation, is derived. The aberrational displacements of all off-axis image points are parallel, and proportional to the squares of the distances of the object points off axis, independent of azimuth. Thus circles originally concentric with the axis remain circles. Keywords
