Abstract
Expressions are derived for the vibration frequencies of asymmetrical collinear molecules of the X2Y and XZY types. They are applied to the calculation of the frequencies of the N2O18 molecule using an appropriate approximate potential function. The ratio of the distribution functions for N2O16 and N2O18 and the value of the equilibrium constant for the reaction N2O16+H2O18⇄N2O18+H2O 16 are also given. Keywords
