Abstract
For the past 20 years, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) of the U.S. Public Health Service in Atlanta has been publishing the Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report (MMWR) and mailing it free to anyone in the world who requested it.The MMWR is a concise bulletin of public-health information, featuring brief preliminary reports on recent outbreaks of epidemic diseases and diseases of environmental or toxic origin that have been investigated by the CDC or by state and local health departments, sometimes with the help of the CDC.
