Abstract
Sixteen juvenile hormone analogues possessing a common acyclic terpenoid chemical structure but differently arranged moieties were applied topically to Heliothis Virescens (F.), and to cotton plants in the laboratory to determine their hormonal activity on this insect. Certain synthetic hormones affected larval and pupal development, adult eclosion, and fertility of treated insects. Although none were effective enough to be considered practical biocides, several showed potential as chemosterilants. Keywords
