Intramolecular Oxidative Cyclization of Alcohols with Lead Tetraacetate

Abstract
This review surveys the ring closure reactions which occur when appropriate hydroxy compounds are oxidized with lead tetraacetate in nonpolar solvents, and which, in many cases, represent a convient method for the functionalization of nonactivated carbon atoms and a useful synthetic procedure for the preparation of cyclic ethers.
