Abstract
Single crystal films of NiFe2O4, CoFe2O4 and FeFe2O4 were prepared epitaxially by decomposing the respective metal halides with water vapor on the cleaved (100) surface of MgO crystal. The thickness of the film was varied over the range from several µ to about 100µ by changing experimental conditions. X-ray diffraction analysis showed that the films were of spinel structure and the crystal axis was always parallel to that of MgO substrate. Ferromagnetic resonance measurement and chemical analysis of NiFe2O4 film suggested a slightly uneven distribution of the components along the direction perpendicular to the substrate surface. Keywords
