Abstract
Burlingham et al. (Dec. 3 issue)1 provide evidence that the survival rate of kidney grafts from sibling donors with a mismatch of one HLA haplotype was significantly higher if the mismatched haplotype was derived from the mother rather than the father. This finding has important immunologic and clinical implications. Keywords
