Laser-assisted x-ray absorption near the absorption edge

Abstract
A formula is deduced for x-ray absorption cross sections in circularly polarized laser beams valid for moderate laser intensities. Possibilities of laser-assisted x-ray absorption processes energetically forbidden without the laser are also discussed near the absorption edge.Keywords
