Abstract
Human tumor tissues (89) were examined for the presence of Regan isozyme of alkaline phosphatase, .beta.-subunit of human chorionic gonadotropin [HCG] and of carcinoembryonic antigen [CEA] by immunoperoxidase staining. CEA was the most commonly detectable antigen, whereas Regan isozyme was rarely found. Multiple expression of the marker antigens, such as concordance of CEA and .beta.-HCG, was shown in some cases. Tumor markers and their incidence seem to differ depending on the tumor origin, histological type and the degree of differentiation. Well differentiated tumors were likely to show a higher incidence of certain markers than poorly differentiated carcinomas. This publication has 5 references indexed in Scilit:
