Abstract
We calculate the production of heavy charged or strongly interacting particles by cosmic rays and find that any sufficiently light stable ones should be detectable in static terrestrial searches. Stable or nearly stable heavy hadrons would also be visible with a distinct signature in delayed-particle cosmic-ray experiments. Keywords
