Abstract
The mechanism of biosynthesis of the E-ring in ursene-type triterpenes has been elucidated by 13C n.m.r. studies of the 13C-doubly labelled ursolic acids (4) and (5) isolated from Isodon japonicus tissue cultures fed with sodium [1,2-13C]acetate.Keywords
