Abstract
Bone healing is a process of reconstitution of tissue. With the development of rigid internal fixation, primary bone healing has exhibited certain histologic characteristics not previously seen. The authors discuss the histologic, biochemical, and physiologic processes seen in primary and secondary bone healing following fracture or osteotomy. Keywords
