Abstract
The method of ultrasonic pulse-echo overlap described by Papadakis (1967) has been used for the planning and construction of a digital electronic instrument for measuring sound velocity in connection with Matec equipment. The instrument is of simple construction and all the components are commercially available. It allows the measurement of sound velocity to within a relative uncertainty of about 10-6.Keywords
