Abstract
An outbreak of the one-year cycle spruce budworm, Choristoneura fumiferana (Clem.), on Douglas fir, Pseudotsuga menziesii (Mirb.) Franco, which lasted six years before collapsing, is described. Population trends and seasonal development, effect of defoliation on the host trees and parasites of the insect are discussed.Keywords
