The Pattern of Bone Erosion in the Hand and Wrist in Rheumatoid Arthritis

Abstract
Bone erosion in the hand and wrist in rheumatoid arthritis is characteristic and predictable. Erosions may be classified as: marginal erosions, compressive erosions, superficial surface resorption, and pseudocyst formation. Anatomic factors and mechanical forces causing pressure erosion are important in determining the pattern.
