Abstract
The low density lipoproteins obtained by centrifugation of serum at a solution density of 1.063 were analyzed by free electrophoresis. A clear electrophoretic pattern showing concentration dependence but no change in mobility with increase in concentration, was obtained. Addition of lipoprotein concentrate to normal serum or to lipoprotein-poor serum resulted mainly in a higher beta globulin peak, while removal of the lipoproteins from normal serum yielded a significant decrease in the same peak. This procedure is suggested as a possible method for met-abolic studies with lipoproteins. Keywords
