Abstract
Some solitary wave solutions for a class of nonlinear wave equations utt－a1uxx＋a2ut＋a3u+a4u3=0 are obtained by homogeneous balance method and Wu-eliminition method. Many well-known equations in physics such as φ4 equation, Klein-Gordon equation, Duffing equation and telegraph equation are special cases of the wave equation presented in this paper.Keywords
