Abstract
This paper reports on an investigation into a child's use of cameras as a means of gaining insights into a child's perspective. By bracketing adult assumptions about children and taking seriously the child's practices in camera use, I find evidence for a consistent yet non‐typical method of picture‐production. Further, this child's use of cameras calls attention to the question of what constitutes picture taking, a question of potential concern to visual sociologists. Keywords
