Abstract
In the case of metered-dose inhalers, a picture or even a thousand words is not enough. Patients must be shown the proper technique, allowed to practice in the presence of their instructor, and receive follow-up review of their technique at each office visit. Medications can achieve long-term control of asthma symptoms but only if they are deposited in the lungs in adequate quantities. The authors summarize the problems and solutions of inhaler use among asthma patients. Keywords
