Abstract
The findings of Edlbacher and Kutscher on the influence of tumors on the nucleophosphate content of striated rat muscle were verified by a different technique. Similar results were obtained with mice. The kinetics of the reaction after 1-2 hrs. was studied. After 4 hrs. the dephosphorylation of thymonucleic acid formed products which influenced the phosphate change of musculature synthetically, and thus obscured the enzyme process. In opposition to E. and K., the liberated H3PO4 was not calculated on the basis of muscle weight, since a rational relation between the latter and dephosphorylation was lacking.
