Abstract
Bulinus (Physopsts) africanus antigens were shown to be associated with the cercarial glycocalyx of Schistosoma haematobium using immunofluorescence and the Cercarienhüllen Reaktion. It is proposed that this snail antigen may sensitise the definitive host and that resistance to further invasion by cercariae could be induced in this manner. Keywords
