Abstract
The new band system (2 Sigma +-x2 Sigma +) of AlO, has been subjected to investigation with a view to computing the Franck-Condon (qv'v") factors and r centroids (rv'v"). The potential used being the Rydberg-Klein-Rees (RKR). After testing its validity in terms of experimental observations and better performance in relation to that of the commonly used Morse expression the points of superiority of RKR potential over the Morse expression have been clearly shown by the application of the criteria of alpha e-test and Bv-test.Keywords
