Membrane Molecular Separators for Gas Chromatographic-Mass Spectrometric Interfaces

Abstract
Membrane molecular separators have been made and used for gas chromatography-mass spectrometer interfaces. The construction of the separator is given in detail. Performance of the separators was followed by flame ionization detectors and total ion current monitors. The advantages and limitations of membrane separators constructed are discussed as to pressure drop, throughput, band broadening, and range of compounds easily handled.
