Abstract
In recent years a number of attacks have been made on the cost of graduate medical education.1 2 3 The argument is that the house staff should not be paid from patient revenues, although how it is supposed to be paid is by no means clear. In my view, there is nothing wrong with the way we pay for the house staff now.
