Abstract
It was possible to perform follow-up examination on 42 patients of 58 known to have dumping syndrome after partial gastrectomy, at least ten years earlier. Two-thirds of the sufferers had become symptom free, half of them in about 5 years, the other half needing 7 to 12 years. One-sixth had slight symptoms of dumping and in another sixth the symptoms continued unchanged. This information should be kept in mind when considering operative procedure for relief of dumping syndrome. Keywords
