Soliton stars and the critical masses of black holes

Abstract
New possibilities of cold stable stellar configurations, based on nontopological soliton solutions in general relativity, are examined. They represent coherent quantum states with very large masses M; depending on the theory, M can be ∼ times the solar mass, or less.
