Search for Monopole Paris from the Second Excited State ofC12

A thorough search for monopole pairs from the second excited state in ${\mathrm{C}}^{12}$ is described. No pairs could be detected and it is concluded that the question of the angular momentum and parity of this state cannot yet be considered as solved.
