Abstract
Homogenates of rat suprarenal body (1 mg/ml) contain the cholesterol esterase system, catalyzing the following reversible reaction: Cholesteryl oleatecholesterol + oleate, where the equilibrium lies far to the right side. The optimum pH of the enzyme is at 6.8-7.0. Glycocholic acid accelerates both the hydrolytic and esterifying actions of the enzyme. This publication has 9 references indexed in Scilit:
