Abstract
Experiments on Bleustein‐Gulyaev electroacoustic surface wave amplification in CdS are described. Large electronic gains up to 105 dB/cm have been obtained at 85 MHz. Comparisons with the amplification of Rayleigh waves propagating on the other faces of the same crystal show that the Bleustein‐Gulyaev electroacoustic surface wave gives higher amplifications and is much less dependent on the mechanical and chemical surface disturbances. Keywords
