Abstract
The infra‐red spectrum of a mixture of deuterated ethylenes has been obtained, and the non‐planar fundamentals analyzed. The assignment establishes the twisting frequency as 1027 cm−1 (C2H4). This result leads to a new and more satisfactory assignment of the fundamental vibrational frequencies of ethylene. Keywords
