Abstract
Wheat-germ agglutination (WGA) was used to identify 168 strains of N. gonorrhoeae and 105 strains of other Neisseria spp. in a routine laboratory. About 1/3 of the meningococci reacted with the lectin and titers with some organisms varied on repeat testing. The technique is regarded as unreliable for the identification of Neisseria spp.
