Abstract
1.55 μm GaInAsP-InP optical amplifiers monolithically integrated with a directional coupler provide 0 dB fibre to fibre insertion loss at 140 mA of injected current in the amplifier and a -25 dBm input optical power. The crosstalk and extinction ratios are larger than 17 dB and the driving current to switch from the bar to the cross state is less than 6 mA.Keywords
