Abstract
One fungus, Myiophagus sp., is a true parasite and is acting as a factor in the biological control of purple and Florida red scales. No evidence has been found that Sphaerostilbe aurantiicola, S. flammea and Nectria diploa are parasitic on red and purple scales. Hirsutella besseyi and H. thompsonii may be parasitic on purple scale nymphs and rust mites, respectively; however, the parasitism of these 2 fungi remains to be proved. This publication has 4 references indexed in Scilit:
