Abstract
A new fast response sensor was used in aircraft studies of fluctuations in the size distributions of tropospheric aerosol and their relation to fluctuations of trace gas concentrations and light scattering coefficients. Spectral analysis of data upwind of Buffalo, New York, and Houston, Texas, suggests important roles for atmospheric turbulence and chemical reaction in aerosol fluctuations. Keywords
