Laparoscopy and Biopsy of the Pancreas in Miniature Pigs and Piglets: A New Way for Investigations of the Pancreas in Animal Experiments

Abstract
The possibilities of inspection and biopsy of the pancreas by laparoscopy were investigated in 3 anaesthetized mini-pigs and 3 piglets. In all experiments the pancreas could be inspected inside the duodenal C without further manipulations. Biopsies were taken without severer bleedings showing parts of the exocrine and endocrine system. These studies emphasize a new way for investigations of the pancreas in animal experiments. An 3 anästhesierten Zwergschweinen und 3 Ferkeln wurden die Möglichkeiten der laparoskopischen Inspektion und Biopsie der Bauchspeicheldrüse untersucht. In allen Experimenten konnte die Bauchspeicheldrüse innerhalb des duodenalen C ohne größere Manipulationen inspiziert werden. Biopsien ließen sich ohne größere Nachblutungen entnehmen und ergaben Pankreasgewebe vom exokrinen und endokrinen System. Die Ergebnisse weisen auf eine neue Möglichkeit der tierexperimentellen Pankreasforschung hin.
