Toward Person/Environment Transactional Research in Aging

Abstract
Gerontological research needs greater orientation to social action and more applicability to the everyday problems of the aged. Most of these problems can be characterized in terms of “loss of control” of the environment. Using this as a common frame of reference, research and service professionals can more effectively collaborate on creative solutions to problems which the aged encounter in their environments.
