Abstract
Strong isotropic negative thermal expansion (α = –4.2 × 10– 6 K– 1) found for siliceous faujasite over a temperature range of 25 to 573 K is attributed to transverse vibrations of the bridging oxygen atoms, a model supported by structural refinements of X-ray diffraction data as a function of temperature. Keywords
