Abstract
The influence of both manganese and firing conditions on certain physical and chemical properties of iron-deficient magnesium ferrite has been investigated The results suggest that Fe2+ and Mn3+ can coexist, at least to a certain extent, in the solid state. It is also shown that the excess of magnesia, which is added to improve the microwave performance of the material, plays an important role in the chemistry of the ferrite phase. Keywords
